Concrete spacer is a small material that helps arrange and fix the steel floor system in the correct position and design, while maintaining the distance to the formwork to ensure the required concrete thickness for protecting the reinforced concrete.

2. Standard usage

For a 150mm thick second layer floor, the required number of spacers is 5-7 blocks per square meter.
The thickness of the protective concrete layer should not be less than the maximum diameter of the steel used in that position.
The common height of concrete spacers for civil engineering is 110mm for the second layer floor.
According to the standard, the quality of the concrete spacer must be equal to or higher than the quality of the concrete used for pouring the floor.
For residential buildings, homeowners can refer to the structural design drawings to determine the required protective layer of steel for the floor. Based on that, they can order the necessary concrete spacers to protect the steel.
